Blog Post by demand: Jay-Z and the “Occult”
As I laughed hysterically while typed the title of this post I also shook my head. I feel like I have to make this post because now I can’t play ANYTHING made by Jay-Z without being promised a seat in hell from conspiracy theorists. Just in case you haven’t heard these accusations yet, (and have been living under a rock), here’s the scholarly and well researched youtube video[<----sarcasm] (here) and this is Jay-Z’s response himself (here)
after you’ve watched these videos…watch me shut down these ludicrous theories

2011 Freshman 10 watch list
I’ve been pretty dead on with my freshman predictions, well minus Orenthal James the Citrus Man making the list this year. For the most part they’ve been good selections too.
2009:
(B.o.B., Wale, Asher Roth, Charles Hamilton, Mickey Factz, Ace Hood, Cory Gunz, Curren$y, KiD CuDi, Blu)
2010:
(J. Cole, Pill, Nipsey Hussle, Wiz Khalifa, Oran Juice Jones da nectar mane, Freddie Gibbs, Big Sean, Jay Rock, Fashawn, Donnis)
At the bottom is my list of people who could make this list next year:
(My opinion, not the staff of XXL magazine)
Double R-Champions
Shoutout to Double R (Retard Ron) for making a semi decent song, even though i’m not a Lakers fan.
Good Ron:
BAD RON!!!:
Fun fact: Ron Artest wore #37 because it’s the number of times Micheal Jackson went platinum
J. Cole-Who Dat
Off of J. Cole’s untitled album (he should really stick with Cole Word), WHO DAT!!! Shoutout to BB Gun, I like his work. Check out the other J. Cole video he directed here.
David Banner & 9th Wonder-Slow Down
David Banner links up with producer 9th Wonder for “Slow Down”, single off of the upcoming album Death of a Popstar. (This beat is hard, and the song goes in…until the singing)
Top 10 Favorite Albums
I have a lot of albums that get heavy rotation from me so it’s extremely hard to narrow it down to 10. However, these are 10 albums that I spin often, so often that I have to go buy a new copy.
Here’s my honorable mention:
Lupe Fiasco-Food and Liquor (this album will one day break my top ten, the cultural significance is the same as my #1 on my list)
Kanye West-Late Registration (College Dropout was classic, but this album was a musical masterpiece in its compositon)
Pete Rock & CL Smooth-Main Ingredient
ANY OutKast album
The Roots-How I Got Over album sampler
How I Got Over album sampler. I am a huge fan of The Roots. Check it out and get a free song also.
GO USA!!!
3-2 Win over Slovlavahblah blah blah… (actually 2-2 tie) USA was robbed!!! It’s all good, this team is getting stronger
Lil B…smh
I never take beefs seriously but if you have a twitter PLEASE follow @lilbthebasedgod. PLEASE.
Cookin Soul X Don Cannon: Drake-Thank US Later Remix
If you don’t wanna cough up that ___ (whatever the price is) or just want an alternative to your Canadian Jew album, here’s a pretty good remix.
Happy Anniversary
I kinda forgot that yesterday was the anniversary of J. Cole’s The Warmup mixtape, possibly the best of last year. This mixtape shouldn’t been dropped down to 14 songs and released as an album. If you don’t have it, shame on you…get it now
Big Sean-High Rise (produced by Don Cannon)
I must say that I’m a Big Sean fan, considering that I hated him just a few months ago. This song is the first single off of his upcoming mixtape, Finally Famous 3
Random post to make you smh….(smh)
I was watching Behind the Music the other day and it featured DMX. It sucks how his life has panned out (also, the demise of his music career, despite what he wants to believe). Anyway, I am SMH because X used to be a BEAST!!! This is a video of a freestyle he did with Jay-Z a few years back.
