This is a story that we all know too well. It may be a friend or family member. The story of a young man, fighting to make something of his life when the odds of against him. That’s the story of semi-fictitious Redford Stephens (1975-1999), the focal point of the concept album UnDun. Although this is a story that is known all too well, it is still a story worth telling. And The Roots tell the story like no one else could.

*Disclaimer* The reason why it took me so long with this review is that I didn’t want to review it after my first listen and give it a 35 out of 5 for a grade. I seriously would have too, it was that great after the first listen. With that said…I must say two things:
1) Before you listen to this, erase Krit Wuz Here (besides the opening song “Return of 4Eva“) from your mind. It’s a classic in its own right, let’s focus on this.
2). After you listen, PLEASE do not say that KRIT softened the subject matter this time around. New experiences, new stage in life, and once again, it’s the Return of 4Eva.
