Summer Soundtrack, Vol. 1
Summer is officially here. You don’t have to be in your car with your windows rolled up softly playing your (embarrasing) Celine Dion’s Greatest Hits anymore. Thanks to T-Shirt and Cargos (and minimum input from yours truly) you can roll your window down, hang that arm out, and get your inevitable disturbing the peace citation. Don’t blame me though, your sound system will love this.
Sir Michael Rocks-Rocks Report
Solo debut from Sir Michael Rocks (aka Mikey Rocks, 1/2 of the Cool Kids). This whole tape rides. Just press play.
The Niceguys-The Show
Despite all of the crappy, recycled music in the world today, there are still a few new innovative ideas breaking through. I’m actually extremely late on this (had it on my iPod, never listened) but better late than never nonetheless.
This group is comprised of 4 members (1 MC, 2 producers, and 1 DJ). What is cool about this group is that they use jazz and big band samples, and their group almost has a Rat Pack persona.
Anyway, download their album The Show below.
Ayomari-PB&J Solution
Sometimes, even I sleep on music. I listened to this once, wasn’t too impressed, then moved on. I decided to revisit it before i decided to write it off for good and I instantly changed my mind. So never judge a book by its cover (or an album by its dumb name and album cover). Download link below.
More about Nothing
Wale is making a sequel to his best work to date (yes, better than the album) Mixtape About Nothing also known as “The Seinfield Tape). Below is the promo vid and also a link for Mixtape About Nothing
Hollyweerd-Edible Phat 2.0
Hollyweerd is probably the only group who actually deserve the Outkast comparisons. Don Cannon hosts this mixtape from ATL’s best kept secret.
